API: Creating BCBS FEP Payer Portal Credentials

Zuub streamlines access to BCBS FEP patient benefit breakdowns by securely navigating BCBS FEP's two-factor authentication (2FA). Follow this step-by-step guide to create Zuub specific BCBS FEP payer credentials.

Pre-Setup Notes

BCBS FEP is very particular with their registration guidelines.

  • Username: Cannot be close too close to the email address; numbers are allowed at the end of the username
  • Password: A special character is required and can’t be '*'

Additionally, there are two ways to set up BCBS FEP credentials. Instructions are provided for each:

  • Creating an additional user (preferred)
  • Updating an existing user

Set up BCBS FEP 2FA: Step-by-Step [Additional User]

  1. Navigate to the BCBS FEP Provider Portal and select “Register as a new user.”
  2. Fill out the required fields and click “Continue.”


  3. Input the following information and select ‘Register.’
    1. User First Name: Insurance
    2. User Last Name: Admin
    3. Username:
    4. Password:
    5. Confirm Password: Same as above
    6. Email Address: Zuub generated email address
    7. Confirm Email Address: Zuub generated email address
    8. Text Phone Number: Zuub generated phone number
    9. Voice Phone Number: Zuub generated phone number
    10. Add security questions and answers.

  4. Select the text method 2-Factor verification method option

  5. Retrieve and input the 2FA code. Select ‘Don’t remember my device’ and click ‘Next.’

Set up BCBS FEP 2FA: Step-by-Step [Existing Account]

There are some situations where BCBS FEP does not allow the registration of a new account. In that case, the phone number in the office's existing credentials needs to be updated to the Zuub generated phone number. Step by step instructions on how to update this are below:
  1. Log into the office's BCPS FEP Provider Portal.
  2. Navigate to the gear icon that says “My Profile.” Add the Zuub generated phone number to the section highlighted below and click 'Save.'

  3. Updating the profile is complete!
